MISSION STATEMENT
The Sartartia Spanish Club’s mission is to promote multiculturalism in our community through products, practices, and perspectives to help our students become culturally competent in a global world. Spanish Club members will be exposed to and immersed in different kinds of music, dance, food, videos, movies, etc. to experience the Hispanic culture and practice the Spanish language in authentic tasks.
OBJECTIVES:
- To promote multiculturalism in our school community and district
- To compare my own culture to other Hispanic cultures
- To provide extended learning experiences in the process of learning Spanish as a second language
- To experience the Hispanic culture through task-based authentic scenarios
- To develop appreciation of the Hispanic heritage
HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER or OFFICER
If you would like to become a member, please complete and submit an application form to one of the teachers. Applications will be available on the first meeting on September 5th.
MEMBERSHIP
- The Club is open to any student enrolled in the Spanish Class, grades 7th and 8th.
- The membership fee for the year is $30 dollars. Includes the Spanish Club shirt.
- 1st meeting on September 5th.
MEETINGS
- Meetings will take place 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, twice every month from 4:15-5:15 in room 303.
- 1st meeting is on September 5th.
