I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre and a minor in Communication Studies. I have been teaching Theatre at Sartartia Middle School since 2009. I believe that all students have their own brand of creativity that will allow them to develop new, innovative solutions and performances. My job is to facilitate opportunities that inspire them to create, then push them to refine their ideas into the best performance possible. I love teaching theatre because it helps equip students with skills for life. Studying theatre at an early age promotes an understanding of collaboration in the workplace, develops creativite problem solving skills and builds confidence in speaking in front of a group. I am thankful to create theatre performances with Sartartia students each day and to watch the growth of a student's confidence and performance skills from grade 6 to grade 8.
