MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Baines Spanish Club is to promote multiculturalism within our community by exploring products, practices, and perspectives that help students develop cultural competence in a global world. Spanish Club members will be exposed to and immersed in various aspects of Hispanic culture, such as music, dance, food, films, and more, while also engaging in authentic tasks to practice the Spanish language.
OBJECTIVES:

- Promote multiculturalism within our school and district community
- Compare and contrast my own culture with various Hispanic cultures
- Provide extended learning experiences in the process of acquiring Spanish as a second language
- Experience Hispanic culture through task-based, authentic scenarios
- Develop a deeper appreciation for Hispanic heritage
MEMBERSHIP
- The club is open to any student in 6th through 8th grade who is interested in joining.
- The membership fee for the year is $30, which includes the club t-shirt.
HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER or OFFICER
- If you would like to become a member or lead the club as an officer, please complete and submit the Spanish Club Application
MEETINGS
- We will meet on the first Wednesday of each month for one hour (from 4:15 to 5:15)
- However, in October, we will have two meetings: on October 2nd and October 23rd. For all other months, we will meet once a month
