My name is Martha María Montejo Pizarro. I was born and raised in Cuba, where I worked as a journalist after earning a BA in Social Communication from the Universidad de La Habana. I also hold a PhD in Hispanic Studies from Texas A&M University and have many years of experience teaching Spanish as a Second Language, Spanish for Heritage Speakers, and Hispanic literature and culture.
