Hi, my name is Folake Ladipo and I am the ESL teacher here at Baines Middle School. This is my 9th school year at Fort Bend ISD and my second at Baines, and I am excited to be here, and even more excited to be your child's ESL teacher. My teaching career started in 1987 in my home country of Nigeria, West Africa, and my passion for teaching has continued to grow ever since. I obtained my first degree in English and Literary Studies from The University of Ife Nigeria. I also hold a Masters degree In Education from Houston Baptist University.  I have a strong drive for working with students whose first language is not English, and I am of the mindset that English learners have the capacity to learn just like native speakers, if given the right supportive environment and linguistic accommodations. Due to this philosophy, I come prepared daily to equip English Learners with the needed tools for both 2^nd language acquisition and academic success.  I believe my many years of working with children of diverse cultural backgrounds is a great asset in working with your child. I will also be a strong advocate for your child with their other teachers.

In my spare time I love to read biographies, listen to inspirational gospel music, watch videos and documentaries of real life events.  I have a daughter who is married with two beautiful daughters and a very active son, so I enjoy doing grandma duties too!.
