Hello and welcome to the Baines Middle School Library!

I'm Mrs. Hester, the Librarian at Baines. 

I taught 7^th grade ELA here at Baines for three years before becoming the Librarian in September 2020.  In addition to teaching ELA, I am co-adviser to the National Junior Society.  Prior to teaching, I spent many years working in the oil industry in Corporate America as a Business Analyst.  I am originally from California, but have been living in Texas for the past 20 years. 

I love reading and spent most of my summers while I was in middle school walking 5 miles to the library and I joined every summer reading program since I was in elementary school!  My goal as your Longhorn Librarian is to bring you new and exciting authors that you will connect with so that you too can learn to love to read.  My mission is to create a 21^st century learning environment that provides programs and resources that will encourage our students to become compassionate citizens and inspire them to connect with their passions, and pursue futures beyond what they can imagine.

I am excited to be continuing my career in education here at Baines as the Librarian and can’t wait to see you all in the library!
