Hello Parents and Guardians!
I am Mrs. Hester and I would like to welcome you to the 2017 school year at Baines Middle School! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself since I have already met your wonderful 7th graders!
Although I am new to Baines Middle School, I am not 100% new to teaching. I have worked in both Fort Bend ISD and Alief ISD as a Substitute Teacher for the past year. I have taught many different grade levels during my time as a Substitute Teacher, but once I taught middle school, I knew I was here to stay!
I am originally from California where I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Redlands. I moved to Texas with my family in 1996 and later earned my Master’s Degree from the University of Houston. Recently, I earned my teaching credentials from ACT Houston. I spent most of my working years in Corporate America where after over 25 years, left to pursue another lifelong dream of mine to teach!
I am very excited for our first year together and have high expectations that I have expressed to my students. I am committed to providing them with engaging instruction that will be rigorous with lots of reading and writing, will challenge their thinking, and develop their reading and writing skills to higher levels.
I am so excited to be your child’s 7th grade ELA teacher. It’s going to be a great year full of new friends, new adventures, and new discoveries!
Let’s make this an incredible year!
