What is the AVID elective class at Baines Middle School?
~ The AVID elective is offered to 7th and 8th graders, which offers students study skills, organizational tools, academic support, social/emotional mentorship, grade checks, and a school family environment.
What characteristics do AVID students have?
- Strong academic potential but could benefit from additional support
- Motivation to improve academically
- Willingness to work hard and commit to success
- Desire to attend college and pursue future career opportunities

How Do I Apply?
Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are now open! Students who are interested in starting a path that will better prepare them to achieve their college dreams should complete the online application. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, January 22, 2025.Online Application: Click HEREOnce the application is complete, all applicants will be scheduled for an interview the week of January 27, 2025. Acceptance/Waitlist letters will be emailed on February 5, 2025. The deadline for accepted students to either accept or decline their seat is February 12, 2025.Document Who Should Apply for AVID
