• What is the AVID elective class at Baines Middle School?

    ~ The AVID elective is offered to 7th and 8th graders, which offers students study skills, organizational tools, academic support, social/emotional mentorship, grade checks, and a school family environment.

     

    What characteristics do AVID students have?

    • Strong academic potential but could benefit from additional support
    • Motivation to improve academically
    • Willingness to work hard and commit to success
    • Desire to attend college and pursue future career opportunities

    How Do I Apply?

    Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are now open!  Students who are interested in starting a path that will better prepare them to achieve their college dreams should complete the online application. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

    Once the application is complete, all applicants will be scheduled for an interview the week of January 27, 2025.  Acceptance/Waitlist letters will be emailed on February 5, 2025.  The deadline for accepted students to either accept or decline their seat is February 12, 2025.
