Hello, I am Mrs. Dasent (da-saunt)!  I am a seasoned educator with a decade of experience of teaching English Language Arts (ELA) at the middle school level.  I was born in the United Kingdom, but Houston, Texas has always been home for me. My journey to education began with my service as a combat soldier in the United States Army for a decade.  My time in the military honed my leadership skills, resilience, and a deep sense of duty, all of which I now channel into teaching. I am known for my ability to connect with students, using my life experiences to inspire them to overcome challenges and pursue their goals with determination.

In the classroom, I am particularly passionate about integrating technology into the classroom, believing that it can make learning more engaging and accessible. I am a certified digital educator with Apple and my innovative approach to teaching has earned the respect of my peers and the gratitude of my students. I believe in fostering my students in believing that they are already equipped with everything they need to be successful in their education and in life, and I am looking forward to instilling that philosophy with my students this year.
