Dr. Nefertitti Washington
Hello My name is Dr. Nefertitti Washington!
I am a teacher at Baines Middle School for 8th grade mathematics and Algebra I. I am excited about the 2024-2025 school year. It is time for a higher dimension of learning for you and I hope to take you there.
It is my hope that this year, you and I will function linearly, quadratically, and definitely exponentially to higher mathematical heights while experiencing and applying Algebraic concepts to the real world.
This year will encompass a mixture of learning experiences engineered to stretch your learning, enrichment, and application of mathematical concepts both inside the classroom and in your world. It is my hope that you will see yourself extend your knowledge and promote it with discussion as well as questioning. Challenge yourself as well as others to see the beauty of what they are doing instead of just seeing numbers or letters.
I BELIEVE that we will reach beyond any set boundaries to enrich, extend, and enhance learning both inside and outside of the classroom. It takes a village to soar beyond any heights we set for ourselves, but the responsibility lies on you. YOU are accountable for reaching new heights and breaking boundaries, taking risks and accomplishing beyond whatever you initially imagined. I also believe that we are not to limit ourselves to our constraints, or other people’s views on how successful you can be.
I was born and raised in Tennessee and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. I also have my Master’s in Educational Leadership and a Doctorate in K-12 Studies, both from Capella University. I have been teaching mathematics for twenty-three years.
I look forward to working with you to teach, expand, explore, and enrich your life mathematically and literally during this 24-25 school year in Algebra 1 and 8th grade mathematics.
It takes both of us to educate your child, but the responsibility lies on their head. I look forward to working with you to teach, expand, explore, and enrich your child’s life mathematically and literally.
Dr. N. Washington
