Mr. Phillip Alexander

I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a B.A. in mathematics. I am proud to be a 6th grade AVID teacher at Baines Middle School. I absolutely love my job and I am very passionate about helping your child succeed in every way possible at our school.  I love teaching and I am looking forward to teaching your child this year. Purpose and Summary of the AVID Course:  

The AVID class is a course designed to smooth the transition between the elementary and middle school. This class equips students with the necessary tools and habits to succeed in middle school and beyond. 

Course will focus on:

§  Study and organizational skills;

§  Time management and goal setting;

§  Character development and effective habits;

§  Technology-etiquette, digital footprint, keyboarding and various software; and

§  Academic and social communication.
