Mrs. Dionna Alvarez

Greetings Fellow Longhorns!

I am Dionna Alvarez, the 6th Grade Assistant Principal and will also serve as the campus Associate Principal and Campus Behavior Coordinator. This is my fifth year at Baines, and I am excited to help our 6th graders prepare for their transition to middle school and their first year at the Ranch.

I've been in education since 2014 with Fort Bend ISD. I have experience as a math teacher, department head, and EDGE master teacher. I have a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Political Science from University of Texas at Dallas (Whoosh) and a master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from University of Houston (Go Coogs).

I believe my primary role as an educator is to inspire students to develop a love for learning and a curiosity about how and why things happen. As an administrator, I aspire to help teachers grow in their capacity to reach and support all students.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, eating, lifting weights, reading, and running. I have an amazing husband, a fifteen-year-old dog, and a three-year-old puppy with whom I love spending quality time.
