I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Brigham Young University in 1989.  I grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, but I have lived in Texas since 1990.  I have four wonderful daughters who all attended Highlands Elementary.  I lived in Peru from 1985-1986, so I speak fluent Spanish. I enjoy spending time with my family, taking my dog on walks, hiking, running, biking, reading, singing, listening to country music, and playing the piano.  I ran my 20th marathon in 2020!  I also qualified for the Boston Marathon which I ran in April of 2011. 

I taught first grade in San Antonio, Texas for two years.  Highlands has been home to me since I moved to Sugar Land in 1998.  I served on the PTO board for several years, played the piano at festivals, and volunteered when I could in the classroom.  I substitute taught for one year and then in 2006 I started full-time.  I taught fourth grade for three years, and after that I taught fifth grade.  I am very grateful to teach at Highlands with such a wonderful staff.  My goal is to create a safe learning environment, so each student will be able to achieve their fullest potential.
