Hello!  My name is Matt Garcia.  I am a Resource/Inclusion and Services (RIS) teacher at Highland Elementary.  I graduated from The Unveristy of Texas at Brownsville/Texas Southmost College(Now UTRGV) with a Bachelors of Art. I have lived in the Houston Metro area for the past 10 years where my wife and I are raising our little kiddo. 

My affection for teaching was passed down to me from my past teachers who made their passion for teaching contagious.  My goal as a educator is to provide a safe and nuturing learning eviroment that is accessible to all learning types and to create a organizational culture that embraces care, respect, safety and inclusion.
