Hi! My name is Michelle Carrejo and welcome to my page! This is my 10th year teaching. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, ESL, Reading Recovery and Literacy Intervention. I graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. My family relocated from New Mexico to Sugar Land, TX in November 2014. We absolutely fell in love with Sugar Land and are happy to call this wonderful place home. My husband and I have a four-year-old daughter who is the light of our lives and keeps us very busy.
I am extremely excited to support our Scotties in reading and writing through Leveled Literacy Intervention this year. Observing each child’s success and growth in literacy inspires me every day. I believe all children can grow to love literacy; they just need the right tools, explicit teaching, practice, application, and support to be successful at it. Through hard work, dedication, and collaboration I believe we can achieve great things.
I am very fortunate to be at Highlands Elementary, it’s a great place to be! I look forward to working with our wonderful students, staff and families this 2016-2017 school year. Go Scotties!
