Welcome to Highlands! My name is Rozina Chowdry and I am excited to build our fourth grade community with you! I will be your host/facilitator/teacher as we navigate through this new school year together and build a community that is curious, compassionate, and confident in learning and growing.

My goal as an educator is to provide a safe, nurturing and enriching space for children's voices to be heard and validated, where mistakes are opportunities to grow, where children take ownership of their learning, and where we are compassionate, curious, excited and happy to be our growing selves.

I have taught for over 20 years (at University of Houston Charter School in grades 2nd to 5th, a few graduate courses at University of St. Thomas, and finally at Highlands Elementary as a 4th grade teacher). I have a Masters in Education Development from University of Oxford and Bachlor degrees in English Literature and Cognitive Psychology from University of Houston (Go Coogs!).

With the understanding that our families are experiencing unpresidented times and unforseen changes, we will move forward with compassion, persistance and a whole lot of grace. Together, we will make our learning community a beautiful place to belong.
