Welcome to the wonderful world of Second Grade!  I am very excited to be your child’s math and science teacher this year. Every child is special to me and I look forward to helping them grow and make some wonderful memories.  I graduated with honors from the University of Houston and this is my 12th year at Highlands.  I was honored to be Highlands' Teacher of the Year in 2019.  I am married and have three children who all graduated from FBISD.  I love animals and have three cats and two dogs.  I'm often referred to as the bug lady at school because I love capturing insects and other small critters to share with my students.  Don't worry, we usually let them go at the end of the day.  

I believe school should be a safe, happy place for children and I strive to make learning fun.  I also believe building relationships with students and their families is key to student success so I look forward to partnering with you and your child this year!  Highlands is a wonderful place and I hope your child will fall in love with it as much as I have.
