Welcome! This year will be my 23rd year of teaching! I have taught at Scanlan Oaks since we opened (20 years), and I am proud to be a teacher at this school! I can honestly say that I truly enjoy coming to school every day! I have taught first, second, and third grades. 

I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My family is probably the largest group of Steelers fans in the south! I went to elementary, middle, and high school in the Cy-Fair area of Houston. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University, I moved back to Houston to begin my teaching career.  I received my Reading Specialist Master's Degree and certification from SFASU in August 2019. I was honored to be selected as SOE's 2007-2008 Teacher of the Year.

Teaching third graders is my passion. I hold high expectations for myself and my students. I enjoy watching my students grow academically and socially throughout the year. Third Grade will be a year full of responsibility, hard work, and fun! In my free time, I love to exercise, read, cook, watch Astros games and travel.
