Welcome to Scanlan Oaks Elementary School!

I am excited to begin my 5th year as your librarian and my 17th overall in FBISD. I am an avid reader, and passionate about inspiring our young students to love reading as well. My philosophy is that when students tell me they don't enjoy reading, they just haven't discovered the right book yet. I also like to empower my students by helping them build strong questioning and research skills. 

Outside of school, I am lucky enough to have a great husband and 4 grown children who I love to spend time with. In addition to reading, I enjoy travel, cooking, baking and photography. 

I am looking forward to a spectacular school year, please see me for help with books or other resources you need to help this be a successful year for you.
