Hi and welcome to the Scanlan Oaks Elementary STEM Lab!
My name is Marge Gibbons and I am thrilled to be your student’s STEM Outclass teacher! This is my 12th year at Scanlan Oaks.
I have been the STEM Lab teacher at Scanlan Oaks since its inception two years ago. Before that, I was the Science Lab teacher. I am the sponsor and director of our morning announcements, Express News and the sponsor of the Coding/ Robotics Club.
In 2011, I was awarded the honor of Scanlan Oaks Teacher of the Year.
As a third-generation educator, originally from New Jersey, I have taught in New Jersey, the New Orleans area, Spring Branch and saving the best for last, Fort Bend ISD.
I have taught every grade from kindergarten through eighth grade, but out of all my teaching experiences this is my favorite!
I have the privilege of teaching every child in our school the discoveries and wonders of STEM.
The STEM Lab is an awesome place where students get the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities, build and utilize technology that directly supports their classroom curriculum.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and my two long hair dachshunds, Striker and Blade. I am an avid sports fan, primarily football, Premier League soccer and Astros baseball!
I love the outdoors, cultivating tropical plants, cooking, technology, creating and I love to learn new things!
I love STEM and I share that excitement with my students!
I look forward to a fabulous year with all our students, filled with learning, creating, and collaborating!
