I have enjoyed my four years at SOE, teaching first grade and second grade English Language Arts and Social Studies. I am looking forward to a fantastic year as a self-contained second grade teacher! Previously, I taught for one year in HISD, eight years in North Carolina, and two years in New Jersey. I enjoy working with children and seeing them learn and grow throughout the school year. My desire to teach began at an early age, when I would come home from school and teach my stuffed animals everything I had learned in school that day. I attended high school in New Jersey and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education EC-6 from Eastern University in Pennsylvania. I am ESL and GT certified. My apartment is in Sugar Land, but my parents live in Sienna Plantation, which was my reason for moving to Texas in August of 2014. In my free time, I enjoy reading, art, spending time with my family and friends, and staying active in my church community. If you ask any of my students about me, they will definitely mention my goofy sense of humor and love of panda bears.
