Hello!

This is my 9th year as a proud SMS Jaguar teacher, and I'm so excited to be part of the Sartartia Middle School team!

I obtained my Master’s degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA and my B.A. from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. Previous to becoming a teacher, I worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for 13 years, where I taught people coping with physical disabilities and injuries, mental/emotional illnesses, learning disabilities, AD/HD, psychological disorders, and substance abuse problems to live more independent lives by assisting them in steps needed to obtain and maintain gainful employment and other post-secondary options. I have worked with middle school children, high school children, and with adults, but my favorite age to work with has always been middle school.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, two "fur baby" rescue dogs, and friends.
