Robotics and Engineering (I and II)
A hands-on, mind-on project-based learning class that uses teamwork and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) -based curriculum to reinforce problem-solving and critical thinking skills that can be applied in real-world situations. Topics covered in this elective include team-building, engineering, rocketry/ flight, energy, circuitry (Snap Kits), Physics (Force and Motion Lego Kits), robotics and coding (EV3s, Legos Space Challenge, Scratch, Makey-Makey, Hummingbirds, Spheros) and more. Fieldtrips and competitions include Mars Rover (U of H), Envision Conference (TAMU), Astronaut/ STEM Program (TAMU), Flight Museum, George Observatory, NASA, and I-FLY.
