Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning Development Masters in Sports Administration
Hello Everyone,
It is great to be back at Oakland Elementary for the 2024-2025 school year! My name is Miss Jessica Langford, and I am one of the PE teachers here at Oakland. This is my 5th year teaching in the Fort Bend Independent School District. I have been teaching Physical Education for 12 years. I grew up in the Houston area. I graduated from The University at Austin in 2012 with an undergrad degree in Applied Learning Development with a minor in kinesiology. Later, I graduated from Concordia University - Texas with a masters in Sports Administration in 2016. I am currently pursing my PhD at Prairie View A&M. I played sports throughout my childhood. I have played and coached women’s tackle football for six years and won a championship in 2018 with the Houston Energy.
In PE, I hope to encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth, over a must-win attitude. I find sport/exercise to be a great stress reliever, an escape from frustrations, and an opportunity to strengthen one’s fitness, no matter winning or losing. I believe in the value of equipping students with practical, lifelong health skills, which cross over subjects and develop character.
