Hello everyone. My name is Ms. Akbar and have a bachelor's in  Computer Science and Mathematics and a Master's in Education from Johns Hopkins University. I joined TFA in 2017 and served at a chartered school for 3 years as a 7th-grade Math teacher and Grade-level chair. This is my 7th year in education and my 4th year at Bowie. I have high expectations from my students and am amazed at what my students can accomplish each year.  

I am married to the most supportive and loving husband and have two beautiful kids (a five-year-old and a one-year-old).  As a family, we love to travel and are a big fan of roller-coaster rides. In my free time, I like to paint and watch movies with caramel popcorn!!!
