  • I had the joy of sharing some exciting news with our students this week — the Settlers Way Elementary Book Fair is just around the corner!

The book fair will be cashless this year, making it easier than ever for students to shop independently. Families can set up a Scholastic eWallet starting September 29. Visit our Book Fair homepage for all the details:

    🙋‍♀️ We Need Your Help!

To make this a fun and successful event, we’re looking for parent, grandparent, and caregiver volunteers to assist in the library during the book fair. Volunteers will help students:

    • Browse and choose books they’ll love
    • Check eWallet balances
    • Encourage excitement about reading!

Volunteering is a fantastic way to get involved in the school community — and you’ll get to see those priceless smiles as students find their next favorite book!

    📝 How to Help

    1. Volunteer Registration: All volunteers must complete the FBISD Volunteer History Check before signing up.

    1. Sign Up for a Shift: Once approved, choose your volunteer time slot here:

  • Hello Explorer Families:

The 2025-2026 Required Back-to-School Forms have been turned back on in Skyward Q. It is very important that parents fill these out in order to have your child's photo included in the yearbook, social media posts from the school/district, and other various acknowledgments (handbook, surveys, etc.).  Without consent, your child will not be pictured in the yearbook. Please see the attachment that shows the green icon in Skyward for the Back to School Forms.

🚨 Important Update for Fort Bend ISD Families:

As of Sept. 1, 2025, Senate Bill 12 (SB12) is in effect. Schools must now obtain written parental consent before providing students with certain support in mental, emotional, or physical health, and before students participate in any school-authorized club or organization.

Parents and guardians will receive Fort Bend ISD’s SB12 letter through Skyward Family Access, which automatically translates to your preferred language. Parents and guardians are asked to complete the Health-Care and Health-Related Form for the 2025–26 school year in Skyward Family Access at their earliest convenience to ensure their child has access to the supports and opportunities they need. This form will also be included in annual Back-to-School paperwork to ensure families review and acknowledge it each year.
