  • Listening Tour

Our Board of Trustees will once again be going out into the community to hold their monthly Board workshops and engage with parents, staff, students and community members. You may recall that during the 2016-17 school year, the Board held Listening Tour events at four FBISD high schools… and this year, they are also introducing “Literacy Tours” at a couple of elementary schools. These events will promote the importance of literacy, and Board members will be reading books to children and speaking to them prior to their monthly Board workshop.

The first Listening Tour will be held at Quail Valley Middle School on October 16, beginning at 6 p.m. The complete list of dates and times are below, and I truly hope that you will mark your calendars to attend!

  • Fall Sign Language Classes - Tuesday 5:45p.m.-6:45p.m.

Deaf Awareness Week will be next week for SWE! We are very excited to share the Deaf pride of our students’ culture and language with everyone. There will be a bulletin board on the wall across from the clinic. Our amazing outclass teachers will also be highlighting various activities and information all next week as well.

Sign Language Classes are every Tuesday from 5:45-6:45p.m. in the cafeteria. This is a great way to learn some conversational skills to use with not only our deaf students, but also in the classroom or with your own families.
