I am a native Houstonian. I graduated from Fort Bend’s Kempner High School, and then received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Houston. I began my teaching career at Rita Drabek Elementary in 2001 where I taught fourth grade. I began teaching music at Settlers Way Elementary in 2008 and was named the 2014-2015 Settlers Way Elementary Teacher of the Year. I am a vocalist and have been involved in music at my church for many years. I also enjoy volunteering at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Cook Off where I have had the honor of singing the National Anthem at the awards ceremony for the past three years. Outside of music, I enjoy snow skiing, spending quality time with my family and friends, and especially spoiling my three nieces and nephew.
