Department Announcements



    JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) develops citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community, as well as educates and trains high school cadets in citizenship, and provides service to the community. Also, JROTC strives to teach cadets personal responsibility, to provide cadets with a sense of self-worth, to instill a sense of accomplishment in those involved, to strengthen the character of the cadets, and to help form habits of self-discipline, as well as to develop respect for, and an understanding of the need for a constituted authority in a democratic society.

    Major Events & Activities:
    - Wings Over Houston—volunteer for Sugar Land Exchange Club fundraiser
    - Air Force Birthday Celebrations 18 Sep 1947
    - Drill Competitions, Physical Training Competitions, Marksmanship Team Competitions, Robotics Competitions
    - Hold Annual DHS Teacher Turkey Shoot
    - JROTC Radio Control Aircraft R/C Team and is host for the Monthly Fort Bend R/C Club
    - Sets up and tears down the Western Dance for the ARC
    - Team Building and Social Outings Activities
    - Fort Bend Annual JROTC Pass and Review 
    - Military Ball
    - Field trips to Houston Planetarium, San Jacinto Monument, Battleship Texas, Washington DC, Lackland Air Force Base

    This is an elective DHS class.

    Meet required AFJROTC grooming standards, $50 annual fee which covers the formal Military Ball and Field Trips.
