Welcome to MYE!

Hello! My name is Mrs. Maglalang (formerly known as Ms. Tao) and I love being part of the Leopard family! I have been teaching for 12 years within this wonderful school district. I will be teaching third grade Math and Science this year. Besides teaching 3^rd grade Math and Science, I also have experience in teaching 1^st grade and 4^th grade Math/Science. Some fun facts about me is that I have lived in three different continents and I love trying out new restaurants with my husband (we're both foodies). We welcomed our first baby, and we love to spend time with her and our pup.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude at University of Houston with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Early Childhood to Grade 6) in 2013. I also hold an ESL certification as well as in teaching Gifted and Talented students.  I strongly believe that being a teacher also means being a lifelong learner. As an educator, I am constantly seeking effective research-based methods to implement in my classroom to help my students strive to reach their academic goals. My passion is to inspire and equip my students with the appropriate skills and tools to take ownership of their learning experience through the use of differentiated instruction.

At MYE, my vision is that both educators & students will exemplify the traits of a lifelong learner. Students will be encouraged to take ownership of their learning experiences through the new standards-based grading system.
