Hello everyone! 

I'm Mrs. Sanchez.  I'm honored to be your child's 5th-grade math & science teacher and thrilled to be returning for my second year as part of the MYE family.  I look forward to getting to know you and your child.  This is my 9th year as a teacher. Previously, I taught at Harmony Science Academy, with a focus on STEM education in 5th grade. I strive to create a safe & welcoming environment where all students can achieve their educational goals.  

I'm originally from Austin. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Texas State University in San Marcos back when it was Southwest Texas State University or SWT for short!  In 1997, I moved to Richmond, where I worked as an Adult Educator at the American Cancer Society & American Diabetes Association, earned my ESL & EC - 6 Teaching Certificates from the University of Houston, & met my husband of 25 years.  We have 3 kids. Our oldest, who is 20, will begin her Junior year at Caltech in Pasadena, California, & is currently an intern at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Our son is 19, and will begin his sophomore year at UT Austin, works as a university tutor & runs his own Web Development business part-time.  Our youngest daughter is 16, a Junior in high school, enjoys horse riding, and is a member of the Technology Student Association & Junior Achievement.    

Outside of school, I volunteer with Fort Bend Hope, enjoy spending time with family & friends, gardening, going to the beach, the movies, or going for a walk.  Thank you for entrusting me with your child's education.  I look forward to working with you and your child to make this a memorable year.  I believe in partnering with parents and having an open line of communication, so don't hesitate to contact me at Eva.Sanchez@fortbendisd.gov, if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's academic goals.
