Welcome to MYE Art!

My name is Marisa Rodriguez and I will be teaching Art for all grades at Malala Elementary.

I grew up in the city of Richmond, Texas. I have not only lived in the area, but also attended school in Fort Bend ISD starting in Elementary all the way through High school. Last school year I had the privilege of completing a year of in class student teaching in Fort Bend ISD too, I love this district! I attended the University of Houston where I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Minor in Education and completed my certification in Art for grades EC-12.

This will be my first year teaching and I am so excited to meet your artists! I look forward to creating a safe and welcoming environment where all students can be creative and learn about the visual arts. Something I believe in, is that all subjects can be integrated into the arts. That is something we will be exploring within our art classroom this school year.
