Welcome!  My name is Shameka Hughes. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas.  I graduated from the University of Houston Main Campus with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies and a minor in Psychology.  I later obtained my teaching certificate for Early Childhood through Sixth Grade and Special Education.  I am also ESL certified.  The 2025-2026 school year will be my 13th year in education and fourth in Fort Bend ISD.  I have been married for 15 years to my lovely husband, and we have a 14-year-old son.  As a family, we enjoy attending sporting events, traveling, and playing with our goldendoodle, Dream.  In my free time, I enjoy shopping, baking, and watching a good movie.  Teaching truly brings me joy every day.  I can’t wait to get to know you and your child and spend the year laughing and learning together!
