WELCOME TO 6th GRADE!!

     

     I am so happy to have you in my 6th grade class. I teach 6th grade World Cultures and Geography Regular, and AAC.  I look forward to meeting all of my new 6th Graders this year!! 

     This year, students in sixth grade social studies classes will learn about World Cultures as we study different continents, their resources, and their history. We will study how geography affects culture, which has an influence on aspects of society. We will study the ESPN of each continent:

       Environment, Social, Political, and eNvironment

Units include:

*Understanding Culture & Society

*Discovery, Democracy, & Diversity in the U.S. & Canada

*Latin America: Conquest, Colonization, & Converging Cultures

*Europe: Legacies & Challenges

*Southwest Asia & North Africa: Religion & Rivalries

*Asia: Past, Progress,  & Population Patterns

*Australia, Oceania, & Antarctica: Adapting to Life Down Under

 I require all of my students to actively participate in ALL the classroom discussions and activities we will complete in class.

    Please give me 24 hours notice prior to coming for tutorials.  They need to request a pass from me prior to coming to tutorials.

    We are making Interactive Student Notebooks in class, so the students definitely need to have their own supplies each class period.
