Mrs. Cynthia Mingus

Welcome to a new school year at David Crockett middle school! My name is Cynthia Mingus, and I will be teaching 6th grade science this year. This is my 14th year in education.I earned a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in Curriculum & Instruction, a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Houston-main campus, and an Associates in Arts degree from Wharton County Junior College & a certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Texas A & M Commerce. I have taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade up to college-level courses for adults seeking to take the exam to achieve their high school equivalency/GED certificate. Education is very important to me as I am the first in my immediate family to graduate high school, the first to go to college and earn a master’s degree. Education was my way out of poverty, which is why I emphasize the importance of learning. I look forward to working together with you & your child as a team this school year!
