Dear DCMS Choir Families,

Welcome to the new school year! We hope you’ve enjoyed a restful summer and are as excited as we are for what’s ahead in the DCMS Choir program.

We’re thrilled to introduce our new Assistant Choir Director, Jessica Melancon. Ms. Mel (as she likes to be called) brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for choral music, and we’re confident she will be an incredible asset to our team. Please join us in welcoming her to the DCMS family!

Our choir program is guided by three core themes: Passion, Purpose, and Building a Culture of Respect. We believe that these principles will help us not only grow as musicians but also foster a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued. 

We have an exciting fall semester ahead with several special events. First, we’re excited to announce an August vocal clinic featuring a member of the Houston Grand Opera. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn from top professionals in the field. Additionally, DCMS will be hosting the Solo and Ensemble UIL in October, which promises to be a memorable experience for all involved. There is much more to be excited about, which will be revealed for classes as the semester moves on.
