Welcome to PTECH and our 2020-2021 academic year. I am Miss Person and I am excited to serve as your child's English I Pre-AP teacher. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas, and I am a proud U.S. Army Veteran! My combined educational experience from college and the military will assist me greatly in the task to educate and prepare students for success in the prestigious advantage of the PTECH program!

This is my second year on staff at Hightower High School in the PTECH Academy, and my 16th year as an educator. I look forward to the opportunity to provide your child with the most rigorously challenging, yet nurturing learning environment possible this year. My main professional goal is to not only equip PTECH students with English Language Arts skills and strategies to be effective communicators, critically analytical thinkers, and disciplined collaborators but to also give them profitable instructional support to assist them to excel and finish well in all 9th-grade curriculum areas, as well as in their specific program courses at Houston Community College.
