Hightower High School is No Place for Hate

  • Hightower High School is proud to be an Anti-Defamation League "No Place for Hate" School.

We are committed to making our campus a safe school with a culture that values all students and staff. We encourage you to visit this page often to see the amazing things that we are doing to:

    • Build an inclusive and safe community in which respect is the goal, and all students can thrive.
    • Empower students, faculty, administration, and family memeber to take a stand against hate and bullying by incorporating new and existing programs under one powerful message.
    • Engage our school and community through the implementation of at least three campus-wide anti-bias activities per year, which ADL helps to develop.
    • Send a clear, unified message that all students have a place to belong.

HHS 2017-18 No Place For Hate Activities

  • S.A.I.L. - Student-Athletes Incorporating Leadership

Athletes are in a special position of influence, whether amongst their teammates or peers in the classroom. As well, administrators and teachers need these athletes to be positive role-models for the entire school.

The S.A.I.L. program is designed to teach and give student-athletes / team captains at Hightower HS the tools they need to be successful in leading their teams in sports, peers in the educational environment, and once they have graduated and left the high school culture, to be successful in life.  The program will be led by 4 coaches and will be comprised of 50+ student-sthletes selected from all levels of sports.

Topics to be covered by S.A.I.L. participants may include the following issues, and while mainly a discussion group, guest speakers will be invited on occasion:

    • Becoming more vocal
    • Building team chemistyr
    • How to earn respect
    • How to lead oneself
