Ms. Essence Ephran, MS, LAT, ATC
Hello Hurricane Family,
As a Fort Bend ISD graduate, I passionately enjoy serving the athletes in the community that poured so much into me. After graduating from George Bush High School in 2013, I attended Texas State University. I have been Head Athletic Trainer at Hightower since 2021. Aside from standing sideline maintaining the health and safety of the mighty hurricanes, I enjoy traveling, cooking, and reading.

ATHLETE PAPERWORK
As mandated by the Texas UIL and Fort Bend ISD, all student athletes, band, color guard, dance, and JROTC members must turn in a cleared Physical Form and complete pre-participation forms via Rank One before they are eligible to participate in organized team tryouts and or practice.
Any physicals uploaded via Rank One may take up to 3 business days to process.
Athletic trainers are not responsible for paperwork turned in to coaches or front office staff.

Sports Medicine Donations
DONATE HERE
In our mission to support the health and wellness of our student athletes, we seek your support through donations to increase our student athletes’ access to quality sports medicine resources.
About Our Program
The L.V. Hightower High School Sports Medicine is a hands-on training program with a selected cohort of sports medicine students led by Head Athletic Trainer Essence Ephran dedicated to the success, health, and wellness of student athletes. Through the prevention, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries of our high school and associated middle school programs daily, to the various other initiatives curated throughout the year, we lead and facilitate the comprehensive care of over 1200 high school and middle school athletes.
How You Can Support
Our district budget covers most daily expendable items such as tape, water coolers coolers, and some rehabilitation equipment. However, we are in search of donors to sponsor our program in the purchase of big-ticket items (see examples below). Donations will support Hightower athletes and athletic training students ensuring they receive top of the line care and educational experiences. Below is an example of our projected costs based on some needs of the program:
- 50 Gallon Portable Hydration Stations $5000
- 8 Foot Equipment Trailer $5,000
- Normatec Sets $1450
- College & University Campus Tours/Athletic Training Trip $3,500
As a donor, you will be promoted as an established partner of the L.V. Hightower High School Sports Medicine Program respective to the various donor tiers.
As Hightower’s sports medicine program continues to educate and serve, we hope that you join us in this effort to make a significant impact on the lives of our student athletes and community.
We look forward to your support, and partnership. For more details please feel free to contact our Head Athletic Trainer, Essence Ephran.
