Private Lessons
Private lessons are when a student meets with a teacher (not Ms. Campbell) in a one-on-one setting, usually for between 30-60 minutes, to improve their skills on their instrument. Some students find lessons helpful when they are struggling and want some extra help, but many students find that lessons help them to advance very quickly and develop skills at a faster rate than their peers. All professional musicians, including orchestra teachers, took private lessons for many years prior to starting their career.
Private lessons, while not required, are highly recommended for students to achieve the highest level of success possible on their instrument because of the individualized instruction they provide. Private lessons teachers are able to address each individual student's specific needs on their instrument in a way that large group classes often cannot. Many teachers accept students year round, but they do sometimes fill up and need to create waitlists. The BEST time to start private lessons is in the summer or right at the beginning of the school year to secure your slot for the year.
If you are interested in registering your child for private lessons please reach out to Ms. Campbell or contact one of the teachers on the private lessons list. Each private teacher has their own studio policies and tuition.
