Mr. David Montemayor
Mr. David Montemayor serves as the Director of Orchestras at Sugar Land Middle School, where he leads the Titan Orchestra Program, which includes the Beginner Orchestra, Sinfonia Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra. He is dedicated to fostering an environment of musical excellence, leadership, and community where every student can grow both as a musician and as a person.
Mr. Montemayor earned his degree in Violin Performance from the University of St. Thomas, where he cultivated a diverse background in Mariachi music, orchestral performance, and experimental ensembles. His broad performance experience gives him a unique perspective on how music can connect people across cultures and styles.
He discovered his true calling in teaching later in his career, after witnessing firsthand how music can transform and inspire young lives. He is passionate about helping students become more expressive, resilient, and independent thinkers. Through orchestra, his goal is to guide students in developing leadership, overcoming challenges with tenacity, and cherishing music as a lifelong source of unity and joy.
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Montemayor continues to perform and compose, blending his love for classical and contemporary music. He believes deeply that music education builds not only skilled musicians but also confident, compassionate, and creative individuals ready to make a positive impact in their world.
