About

  • The Willowridge High School Band Program is dedicated to excellence in instrumental music education.  Students participate in ensembles such as a marching band, 2 symphonic bands, and a jazz band.  The Willowridge High School cluster consists of students from Christa McAuliffe Middle School.  Students begin instrumental music instruction in sixth grade.  Classes are taught homogeneously during sixth grade and divided into two performing ensembles in seventh and eighth grade.  Middle School students audition for the Willowridge Band Program in the spring semester of eighth grade and are scheduled into the appropriate band class according to their playing ability.

The Willowridge Band performs in various events throughout the city of Houston to include the Fort Bend County Fair Parade, the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo Parade, and the City of Houston Veterans Day Celebration.  The Willowridge High School Band participates in the UIL Marching Contest, UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest, UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest, and US Bands Marching Competitions.  In 2022, the Mighty Eagle Band made history by receiving a Division I rating at the Region 13 UIL Marching Contest.  This was the first Division I rating and Area Marching Contest performance since 2008.  The Willowridge High School Band is supported by the Willowridge Band Booster Club as well as through generous donations by Willowridge Alumni, Wall of Honor and other community members.
