• AP Capstone ScholarVishal Bontu is a rising senior at Kempner High School. Next year he will be vice president for his school’s math honor society as well as his school's South Asian Student Association. He is also an active volunteer for the US’s largest exchange club, as well as Science National Honor Society. Outside of school, he works to better both his skills and his community through organizations such as his temple, boy scouts, as well as overall humanitarian projects such as planting trees. Along with this, Vishal actively participates in his cultural activities doing things such as Indian style dancing, tutoring children in hindi, and archery. During his time in the Capstone program, Vishal was able to develop crucial life skills such as working under pressure, problem-solving and time-management. With these newly acquired and refined skills, they have opened up new avenues for him in terms of scholarships and internships. Vishal plans to attend UT Austin while pursuing a major in Bio on the Pre-Med Track.
