• AP Capstone ScholarTariq Zaman, a member of the class of 2025 at Kempner High School, is the Woodwind Captain in the band, Science Olympiad president, and an award-winning jazz saxophonist. He serves as the Vice President of the second-largest high school branch of National Exchange Club and volunteers with Lion's Heart. Tariq has volunteered for medical services in El Salvador through the Castañeda Kids Foundation and received the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award twice. With interests in medicine and exercise science, he researched misinformation, exercise science, and mental health through the Capstone program. The Capstone program provided Tariq with research skills, interpretation, and opportunities for personal growth. After high school, Tariq plans to attend UT Austin and major in Biochemistry while pursuing the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
