About Your Counselor

My name is Nicole Byrd, and I am your counselor here at Oyster Creek Elementary!

Before becoming your counselor at OCE, I spent 3 years in a neighboring district teaching ELA, and the last 3 years at James Bowie Middle School right here in FBISD teaching 6th grade AVID. I am a native Texan and have been a resident of Fort Bend County since 2007. I am a graduate of Houston Baptist University (BA '03) and in 2023 received my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma.

When not helping students, I enjoy spending time with my fellow educator husband, two active daughters, and 2 spoiled Dachshunds. I enjoy reading all genres of books and exercising in my free time.

I am excited to partner with the OCE community to help strengthen the mental health of all our Blue Jays.
