Welcome to 3rd Grade! I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade self-contained at Oyster Creek Elementary!
I was born in Everly, Iowa. Everly is a tiny town in the northwest corner of Iowa. I am part of a wonderful family. I'm the youngest of four children. My parents still live in the country in the same house I grew up in. We raised cows, chickens, ducks, pigs, and sheep. It was a great place to grow up.
I attended college at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education, with an emphasis in Special Education, and a specialization in Social Studies. I'm also FBISD GT Trained.
After graduating in 1996 I moved to Houston for my first teaching job. I began my teaching career in Aldine ISD and stayed there for 4 years. Then I moved to the Cy-Fair area and taught in Cy-Fair for 4 years. I stayed home for a few years to raise my children. I began teaching in Fort Bend ISD 8 years ago. I really enjoy teaching in Fort Bend.
I have 3 amazing children. Talliana is my oldest and is currently a junior in high school. She enjoys raising goats for FFA. Adam is 8th grade and he loves all video games. Kady is my youngest and she is currently in 6th grade. Kady loves playing with our dogs and swimming with friends. We also have 2 mischievous dogs. Nala is a sweet terrier mix and Mufasa is a giant monster of a dog.
For fun I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and taking my dogs on hikes during cooler weather.
