Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Hello and welcome to 2nd grade! I am thrilled to be your math and science teacher at Oyster Creek Elementary this year. My name is Pam Baracho, and I’m excited to embark on this learning adventure with your child.

A little about me: I grew up in the heart of farm country in Iowa, surrounded by cows, pigs, sheep, and chickens. Summers were spent working in my family’s extensive garden, where I learned the value of hard work and the joy of nurturing plants.

I pursued my passion for teaching at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where I earned a degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Special Education and a specialization in Social Studies. I am also FBISD GT trained. This year marks my 20th year of teaching, and I am as enthusiastic about teaching as ever!

Outside of the classroom, I am a proud parent of three wonderful children. Talli is currently in college, while Adam and Kady are navigating high school. They keep me on my toes with their various activities and interests. We also have a playful terrier mix named Nala, who loves to run and keeps our family entertained.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and taking Nala on hikes, especially during the cooler months. These activities help me relax and recharge, and I look forward to sharing my love of learning with your child.
