I am a native Texan, and after living in various parts of Southeast Texas, I attended and graduated from Elkins High School in 1997. Upon graduation, I entered Southwest Texas State University (SWT), currently Texas State University. While attending SWT, I studied Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Early Childhood Education. In the spring of 2001, I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from SWT.

In the fall of 2001, I began teaching third grade at Oyster Creek Elementary (OCE). Since then, I have taught third grade, fifth grade, and science lab at OCE. I currently teach fifth-grade reading, writing, and social studies.

I am from a family of teachers and am married to a teacher as well. As a mother of two children with busy schedules, I don't have much free time, but when I do have free time, I enjoy reading, Scouts BSA, camping, cruising, and vacationing at Walt Disney World. Animals are also a significant part of my life. I have many family pets, including three dogs, Sally, Sugar, and Violet; 3 cats, Midnight, Mittens, and Milo; 2 bearded dragons; and a 75-gallon fish tank.
