I am a native Texan, and after living all over Southeast Texas, I attended and graduated from Elkins High School in 1997. Upon graduation, I entered Southwest Texas State University (SWT), currently Texas State University. While attending SWT, I studied Interdisciplinary studies with a focus on Early Childhood Education. In the spring of 2001, I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from SWT.
In the fall of 2001, I began teaching third grade at Oyster Creek Elementary (OCE). Since then, I have taught third grade, fifth grade and science lab at OCE. I currently teach fifth grade Reading, Writing, and social studies.
I am from a family of teachers and am married to a teacher as well. As a mother of two children with busy schedules, I don't have much free time, but when I do have free time, I enjoy reading, camping, taking cruises and vacationing at Walt Disney World. Animals are also a very important part of my life, and I have many family pets including three dogs, Zero, Sugar, and Violet.
