WHS Library (Frequently Asked Questions) FAQ
When is the library open?
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:10 PM unless posted otherwise.
Do I need a pass to go to the library?
Yes, you do need a pass to visit the library during school hours. An orange library pass is required between the hours of 7:30 - 2:45. We do issue blue lunch passes during the first week of a new semester for students who regularly visit the library during lunch and can be used for the entire semester. Unfortunately, we cannot replace lost blue passes. If you lose your blue lunch pass, you will need to get an orange pass from one of your teachers to visit the library during lunch.
How many books can I check out?
Students may check out up to five books at a time.
How long can I keep the books?
Students may keep library books for two weeks. If you need more time than that, you can renew the books online by yourself, as long as the books are not yet overdue. Watch this video for instructions on renewing books online https://www.wevideo.com/view/1803222467.
Do you charge late fees?
We do not charge late fees for books, but we do charge for lost or damaged books to cover the cost of a replacement book. However, if you cannot pay for a lost or damaged book, please see Mrs. Babaian.
Do I really need my student ID to check out books?
Yes. You will also need your student ID to pick up laptops.
I have books from my middle school. Can I turn them in to you?
Yes, you can turn them into us as long you attended middle school in Fort Bend ISD. We cannot deliver books that come from another school district.
Can you reset my password/tell me what my password is?
Library staff across the district no longer have access to usernames and passwords.
Go to the FBISD Technology Resources site for detailed information on how to reset your OWN passwords!
