My name is Dianne Adams and I graduated from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina with a BA in Criminal Justice and a minor in Education. After graduating from college I worked as a Probation/Parole Officer for the State of Florida. Later I began teaching and I continue to teach after thirty one years. During my profession as a teacher I have taught fifth grade, middle school, and high school. I have also served as a peer teacher, administrative assistant, and equity coordinator. I’ve even had the privilege in Florida of being selected by my colleagues to serve as a team leader, department head, curriculum council chair, and leadership chair. I also served three years as the Social Studies Department Chair at HBMS. Still, one of my nicest honors came in 1995 when I was recognized as a Golden Apple Teacher of Distinction in Lee County Florida.
