I am Monira Lizu, happy and excited to start the school year 2024-2025 science team in HBMS. I did my Masters in Chemistry at Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas. By God's Grace I have been married and blessed with two beautiful kids. I love everything science and learning new things and I look forward to inspiring that love in others - students and teachers alike.

I am passionate about my role as science teacher at Hodges Bend! This has been a dream job of mine which came to fruition this year. As a science teacher in 6th grade, our mission is to inspire scientific inquiry in students. Our vision is to develop student ownership of learning through laboratory investigations so, students can make real life connections in an increasingly complex and dynamic world. As a science teacher I am willing to learn new things, which makes my role exciting! They are leaders on our campus with a strong sense of teamwork and support of one another.
