My name is Don Zavodny and I am proud to be teaching 6th and 7th grade Social Studies in the GT Academy.  I have over eight years of experience as a social studies teacher and one year as an educator with the Texas Historical Commission.  I have a B.A. degree in History from the University of Houston and a M.A. degree in History from Gettysburg College.  As a teacher, I have always sought to create a student-centered classroom, where students are empowered to take ownership of their learning and are engaged in activities and projects that encourages them to make real-world connections.
